Summer Camp 2023 is ON!!
From Tuesday, May 30th to Friday, June 2nd, the Thunderbird Battalion will be participating in the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge.
1) Cadets are expected to be at
2) Cadets should have some breakfast and get good sleep. We have issued a camp uniform for this event so please discourage your Cadet from wearing jewelry or personal accessories in the uniform. It may be necessary to clean their camp outfit as needed for the three days. Wash in warm water mild soap and low heat. If they are stopping for food on the way they must have it consumed before the start of camp.
3) Permission slips went out this week to the Cadets for the Alaska Wildlife Conservation trip we will do on day two (Wednesday) next week. These permission slips are mandatory for school district policy adherence and JROTC guidelines. Cadets can bring some souvenier and food money (not more than 30.00) for the day at the wildlife center.
4) Please make sure your Cadet has a ride or some type of arrangement to get home upon release each day. The end of the day will be not later than 3 PM Tuesday and Thursday. On the day of the Conservation Wildlife trip on Wednesday, we will return between 4:30 and 5 PM.
Finally, JROTC instructors are equipped to handle most issues regarding Cadet behavior as well as minor medical issues. Your Cadet still should be able to reach an adult if they cannot reach you in case they are in need of special care. Please make sure someone is available for your Cadet in case of an emergency. Since we are doing everything at the school it will be easy to come and pick up your Cadet when needed.
Thank you for your support.
